We fight for more resources and services for those who need them while pushing for systemic change.
To achieve our goals, we operate in three primary ways.
As experts in what it means to be unhoused, we use our lived experience to address resource gaps. As board members of service provider organizations, we aim to create cultural shifts and improve support mechanisms to achieve meaningful change.
One of the most powerful ways to change the stigma of homelessness is through education and awareness. We humanize the issue and challenge misconceptions by sharing our stories and experiences with organizations and the community.
Finding the right services can be difficult, so we compiled a guide and map of Lancaster’s resources we found most useful. These include food and meals, shelter and housing, social workers, hospitals and rehabs, job placement, and other useful resources.
Each one of us can make a difference. Together we make change.
The Homeless Advocacy Board is a community outreach program of the Lancaster Moravian Church. To donate in support of our work, enter HAB in the special instructions field on the Lancaster Moravian online giving site.
